Climate change is a global issue that not only affects the weather, but also has a significant impact on biodiversity. As global temperatures increase due to greenhouse gas emissions, the habitats of various species are undergoing dramatic changes. Some species are forced to adapt, while others face the threat of extinction. The first impact of climate change is ecosystem change. For example, higher temperatures affect the distribution patterns of plants and animals. Many species move poleward or to higher altitudes in search of more optimal temperatures. These movements disrupt existing ecosystem interactions, reducing local biodiversity. In addition, climate change is also exacerbating extreme weather events such as floods, droughts and storms. This reduces biodiversity and further weakens the ecosystem’s ability to withstand further changes. Mitigation measures are essential to reduce the impact of climate change on biodiversity. Sustainable land management, habitat protection, and ecosystem restoration can help preserve remaining biodiversity. Ecosystem research and monitoring is also important to understand these complex dynamics. Climate change is not only a threat, but also an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of widespread conservation. Collective efforts to address climate change can help minimize fatal consequences for global biodiversity and ensure biodiversity can survive for future generations.
